About the Role
Twitch's Enterprise Platform & Technology (EPT) organization seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE 3) to architect, build, and operate software systems for enterprise functions across Twitch and Amazon. This hands-on role involves writing production code, owning team-level architecture, and leading multi-engineer projects from design through deployment and operations. The role requires designing and delivering solutions using AWS-native services and AI/agentic patterns across domains like Finance, Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing, with a focus on fast iteration, incremental shipping, and raising engineering standards through exemplary code, pragmatic design, and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-engineer projects from end-to-end design through deployment and operations.
- Own team-level architecture for enterprise systems, ensuring cohesive, extensible, and secure solutions.
- Build and operate production applications using AWS-native services.
- Design and deliver AI-powered and agentic workflows to automate business processes.
- Define agentic architecture patterns and establish best practices for building and operating AI systems.
- Design and build data pipelines, data lake integrations, and data models for reliable data flows.
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices and foster a culture of robust software development.
- Mentor and coach engineers to enhance technical skills and independence.
- Simplify systems, resolve architecture deficiencies, and reduce operational burden.
- Communicate technical designs and decisions effectively in writing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with production systems.
- 2+ years of experience building and deploying AI/ML-powered systems.
- Experimentation with agentic architectures.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java).
- Experience designing and building applications using AWS-native services.
- Ability to lead multi-engineer projects, owning architecture and integration.
- Experience designing and building data pipelines, data models, or data lake systems.
- Track record of incremental shipping, prototyping, validating, and iterating.
- Strong written communication skills for technical design documents.
- Ability to solve complex problems with simple solutions.
