About the Role
The Senior Manager, Employee Communications will lead the planning and delivery of internal communications to ensure employees are informed, connected, and engaged with the company's strategy, culture, and purpose. This role involves shaping the employee experience, partnering with cross-functional teams, and leading a small team to execute strategic communication initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of enterprise internal communications strategies aligned with business priorities and culture.
- Develop and maintain a compelling strategic narrative across all internal channels and leadership communications.
- Provide trusted counsel to senior leaders on communication approaches and employee engagement strategies.
- Anticipate employee information needs to ensure proactive and transparent communication.
- Partner with People & Culture and Marketing to amplify the employer brand and employee value proposition.
- Support leaders with messaging frameworks, toolkits, and guidance for team communications.
- Oversee and improve internal communication channels including intranets, newsletters, and town halls.
- Establish editorial governance and best practices for internal communications.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure aligned and coordinated messaging.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing internal communications team.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressively senior experience in internal or corporate communications.
- Significant experience in change management or change communications.
- Demonstrated experience executing internal communications strategies in complex organizations.
- Experience managing communication channels and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with HR/People & Culture and Marketing teams.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High emotional intelligence and sound judgment.
