About the Role

The firm’s Knowledge Management Team is seeking a Knowledge Management Team Director. This role will lead a team of Knowledge Management Attorneys (“KMAs”) who support the needs of the firm’s practice and industry groups. This position reports to the Senior Director of Practice Enablement and works in close collaboration with National Practice and Industry Heads and Practice and Industry Group Leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the KM team in content creation and development for practice and industry groups, covering legislative updates, case law, industry trends, and legal analysis.
  • Review, edit, and contribute to content (speeches, articles, blogs, presentations, webinars) generated by firm resources for specific industries and practices.
  • Ensure current and accurate intranet content for practice and industry groups.
  • Build and maintain content libraries for all industry and practice groups, including model documents, forms, precedents, checklists, and related resources.
  • Ensure practice and industry group leadership and attorneys are updated on strategic shifts in practice approach, strategy, and execution.
  • Partner with firm resources to ensure effective use of firm-wide and practice-specific tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Leverage enterprise technology and innovation investments at the practice and industry group level in partnership with firm leaders.
  • Ensure adoption and effective leveraging of firm-wide practice support resources, including attorney training, Talent resources, and communication platforms.
  • Provide strategic insights and direction for practice and industry group initiatives and special projects.
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and oversight to the team to ensure strategic goal development, performance, and alignment.
  • Partner with firm leadership to align KMA efforts with firmwide goals.
  • Create and maintain a collaborative, high-performance culture within the team and across practice/industry groups.
  • Develop team KPIs, monitor, and report on KMA work impact to firm leadership.
  • Serve as a liaison between the team and other departments (IT, Innovation, Marketing, Talent) for firm initiatives.
  • Partner with the team and innovation groups to set strategic plans for implementing new technologies for attorneys.
  • Ensure strong working relationships with the Practice Support Operations team.
  • Maintain strong understanding of trends in legal practice support, content development, and knowledge strategy.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree required
  • Minimum of 10-12+ years’ experience as an employment litigator and/or knowledge management attorney, preferably with balance of experience as a practicing litigator
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience leading a team of attorneys with strong leadership and people management skills or leading large cross-departmental project implementations

Salary/Compensations

  • Expected salary range: $190,000 - $220,000 (Colorado, New York, Chicago, Seattle WA)
