About the Role
This role supports Young Life's Christian mission of evangelism and discipleship by engaging in spiritual development, leadership, resource development, direct ministry, and administrative support to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and foster their faith growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop a yearly personal growth plan for spiritual development.
- Maintain relationships and disciplines within an active church community.
- Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
- Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
- Recruit and train new leaders to build a community-reflective leadership team.
- Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
- Attend and engage with area leadership as assigned.
- Raise financial support and maintain donor care practices.
- Communicate ministry updates to donor partners.
- Assist with camp fundraisers and attend assigned committee and adult functions.
- Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
- Lead a team to conduct Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
- Implement summer and school-season camping strategies with a team.
- Potentially serve on summer or assigned staff at a Young Life property.
- Adhere to Young Life policies and procedures, maintaining professionalism in office hours, dress, conduct, and time management.
- Set and regularly review yearly ministry and personal goals.
- Assist with office administration as assigned.
- Complete expense reports clearly and timely.
- Perform other assigned duties congruent with gifts, experience, and area needs.
- Complete job assignments under supervision of area director or mentor.
- Receive individualized training for spiritual maturity and character development.
- Focus on individualized program to gain competency in ministry skills (The 5 C’s).
- Become familiar with area strategy and ministry health as assigned.
- Receive introduction to personal fundraising principles.
- Utilize Young Life discipleship experiences (e.g., summer staff, adventure camping).
Requirements
- Sign a Statement of Faith.
- Profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
- Subscribe to statements and policies required of all Young Life staff.
- Be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions.
- Refrain from conduct and statements that detract from biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life.
- Abide by all policies and practices of Young Life related to religious belief or ministry activities.
