About the Role
Zip is seeking an Onsite IT Lead to bridge high-level engineering and essential onsite operations. This role involves managing systems, serving as the technical face of the office, and eliminating manual tasks through advanced scripting and intelligent orchestration. You will join a high-impact IT organization to build a "Code-First" infrastructure that scales, aiming to create simple, automated, and repeatable solutions to enhance user experience. Zip is looking for a builder who will play a pivotal role in scaling infrastructure through code, security, and cutting-edge technology while leading the onsite experience.
Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end automation for employee onboarding/offboarding using Okta, Google Workspace, and Slack, aiming for "Zero-Touch" provisioning and a secure, instant-revoke "kill switch".
- Serve as the primary technical lead for the physical office, owning the health of conference rooms, A/V integrations, and office tech to ensure a frictionless workspace.
- Partner with Workplace and People teams to manage office expansions, desk deployments, and A/V upgrades, acting as the IT site lead for physical workspace improvements.
- Manage and secure the corporate network (WiFi, LAN, VPN, Firewalls) and endpoints (Iru/Intune), collaborating with Information Security to automate compliance monitoring and threat remediation.
- Build custom scripts (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) and utilize APIs to integrate the SaaS stack, transforming manual "Help Desk" tasks into automated workflows.
- Write and maintain high-quality runbooks and internal SOPs, ensuring processes are documented and repeatable.
- Provide high-touch support for Mac/Windows hardware and software via Jira Service Management, identifying automation opportunities from support interactions.
Requirements
- 5+ years in IT Systems Engineering.
- Previous experience as an Onsite Lead is a plus.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and firewall management.
- Experience with MDM (Iru/Intune) and EDR tools (CrowdStrike).
- Advanced mastery of Okta (Lifecycle Mgmt) and Google Workspace.
- Experience with automation workflow software, REST APIs.
