About the Role

This HR Coordinator role is for a large, busy, full-service Marriott hotel with over 620 guest rooms, airline business, multiple departments, and a unionized workforce. It involves ongoing recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and daily operational challenges, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being at the center of the action. The successful candidate will work independently, make decisions, manage priorities, and take ownership of responsibilities, reporting directly to the General Manager with guidance from the Regional Director of Human Resources. This challenging opportunity offers hands-on HR experience, accelerating development and allowing for a meaningful impact daily.

Responsibilities

  • Manage hourly recruiting activities, including screening candidates, scheduling interviews, coordinating hiring events, and processing new hire paperwork.
  • Track recruiting activity and hiring metrics.
  • Conduct new hire onboarding and ensure completion of required documentation.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and records.
  • Coordinate employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
  • Process status changes and prepare HR-related correspondence.
  • Track leave requests and documentation.
  • Assist with payroll inquiries and related issues.
  • Serve as a resource for associates, answering questions regarding policies and benefits.
  • Escalate employee concerns appropriately and document workplace issues.
  • Assist management with policy interpretation, investigations, and corrective action processes.
  • Support management in ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and company policies.
  • Monitor documentation and record keeping for contractual obligations.
  • Support grievance preparation and information gathering.
  • Administer I-9s and conduct personnel file audits.
  • Ensure employment law posting compliance and track training compliance.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and manage record retention.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • 1–3 years of Human Resources experience
