About the Role

An Upper West Side family seeks an experienced, proactive, and highly organized Full-Time Nanny / Household Manager to support their home and care for their 7-year-old son. The role involves creating engaging, enriching afternoons with the child and maintaining a well-run household during school hours.

Responsibilities

  • School pickup at approximately 3:00 PM
  • Plan and coordinate engaging after-school activities and outings throughout NYC
  • Encourage active, screen-free, curiosity-driven experiences
  • Coordinate playdates, extracurriculars, and enrichment opportunities
  • Assist with homework and evening routines as needed
  • Prepare healthy meals/snacks for the child
  • Foster independence, creativity, and confidence
  • General household tidying and organization
  • Family laundry and linen care
  • Grocery shopping and household errands
  • Meal prep for the child/family as needed
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and household flow
  • Daily walks and care for the family’s dog

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of recent professional nanny experience
  • Prior experience caring for school-age children in private homes
  • Verifiable long-term references from previous employers
  • Strong household management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage childcare and household support responsibilities independently
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to renew
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Fully vaccinated
  • Valid government-issued identification
  • Willingness to complete a comprehensive background check
  • Willingness to complete reference checks
  • Willingness to complete payroll onboarding
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable
  • Non-smoker
  • Comfortable with large dogs and daily pet care responsibilities
  • Physically active and comfortable navigating New York City via walking and public transportation
  • Strong judgment and initiative for planning engaging activities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism within a private household
