Responsibilities
- Inspect and test vehicles, perform preventive maintenance including engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation, wheel balancing, and filter replacement.
- Maintain vehicle functional condition by addressing operator complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, replacing parts, and repairing body damage.
- Verify vehicle serviceability through test drives and system adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintain vehicle appearance through cleaning, washing, and painting.
- Maintain vehicle records by documenting services and repairs.
- Ensure shop equipment operation by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and arranging repairs.
- Manage costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
- Manage supplies by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
- Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and technical publications.
- Accomplish maintenance and organizational mission by completing assigned tasks.
