About the Role

This role is responsible for developing and deploying operating room staff training for Medtronic’s Surgical business. It involves creating curriculum, training materials, and learning strategies to enable hospital staff to safely and effectively use Medtronic surgical technologies. The specialist manages the end-to-end training lifecycle, from needs assessment to continuous improvement, partnering with field teams and healthcare institutions to deliver high-quality, hands-on education for nurses and OR staff, ensuring product adoption and procedural efficiency.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and coordinate in-house product training programs for clinical training personnel and customers.
Obtain information, prepare training materials, develop course content, determine methodology, and coordinate training aid development.
Ensure training programs meet company and customer objectives.
Maintain communication with customers to ensure training effectiveness.
Utilize trainers with technical expertise as needed.
Continuously revise lesson plans to meet new training requirements and keep technical information up to date.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent with 11+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, or healthcare industry.
Associate's Degree with 9+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, or healthcare industry.
Baccalaureate Degree with 7+ years of relevant experience in a clinical lab setting, clinical training, field sales/support in medical device, or healthcare industry.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree satisfying the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
Background in OR training, education, or management.
Experience designing and delivering structured training programs, including piloting sessions and scaling through train-the-trainer models.
Ability to assess customer needs within the OR and translate feedback into targeted training solutions.
Familiarity with operating room environments, workflows, and clinical staff dynamics.
Strong project management skills with experience building and implementing new programs from the ground up.
Proven ability to partner with customers to identify gaps, develop curriculum, and drive adoption.
Experience supporting program rollout, including leading initial sessions and enabling broader team execution.
Comfort working cross-functionally to align training initiatives with customer and business needs.
