About the Role
Provides analytical, research, and transactional support to investment bankers for structuring and issuing municipal bonds via negotiated, competitive sale, or private placement.
Responsibilities
- Gather, organize, and analyze information for proposals, client presentations, offering statements, and marketing materials.
- Prepare proposals and participate in client presentations, detailing financing alternatives and underwriting capabilities.
- Prepare projections, bond/loan portfolio analysis, modeling, and financial analyses for capital markets transactions.
- Develop understanding of economic and political forces affecting bond issuance and the bond market.
- Enhance department's use of bond market information by collecting, organizing, and maintaining marketing materials and resources.
- Coordinate internal and external activities related to pricing and settlement of public finance transactions.
- Collaborate with management and Investment Bankers to secure closings.
- Develop data and analytical processing skills, computer program proficiency, and improve data processing systems.
- Proactively identify operational risks and control deficiencies.
- Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to business activities.
- Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies, and identified risks to management and relevant functions.
- Perform other reasonably required duties, responsibilities, and authority.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics with high achievement.
- 1 to 3 years of related professional Municipal Finance experience.
- Proficiency with personal computers and standard productivity applications.
- Obtain and maintain Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE), Series 50, 52, and 63 licenses.
- Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; strong knowledge of finance and accounting.
- Highly motivated, committed, responsible, and able to manage conflicting priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships at all organizational levels.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong teaming skills.
- Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
