About the Role

We are seeking an autonomous, highly organized Data Capture Technician and Team Lead based in Austin, Texas or its environs to oversee and execute our reality capture projects for AI in construction. In this role, you will be the "true ground owner" of our field data operations across the existing regions. This is a hybrid "player-coach" position (Monday to Friday - 30 to 40 hours/week). You will be assigned your own primary construction projects where you will routinely operate as a capture technician alongside which you will own field execution and manage a team of Video Data Capture Technicians, ensuring total project coverage by planning ahead, coordinating schedules, and stepping in as a backup for your team when needed. You will be an integral part of the broader CloudFactory project team, proactively flagging risks and ensuring we successfully deliver all our client commitments.

Responsibilities

Capture comprehensive, high-quality data on dedicated construction sites.
Take full accountability for regional data capture projects.
Manage schedules and coordinate technician deployment efficiently.
Provide backup coverage by traveling to active construction sites when technicians are unavailable.
Plan ahead, forecast coverage gaps, and proactively flag logistical or safety risks.
Enforce strict adherence to site-specific safety protocols.
Ensure all captured data aligns with quality standards.
Act as the central communication hub between field technicians, site managers, clients, and the project team.

Requirements

Based in the Austin, Texas area with ability to travel to local/regional sites regularly.
Available Monday to Friday for 35+ hours per week.
Proven experience coordinating teams, managing operations, or leading field projects.
Self-starter who takes true ownership of work.
Comfortable walking long distances, navigating uneven terrain, and standing for long periods on active construction sites.
Highly comfortable using mobile apps, scheduling software, and specialized camera/surveying equipment.
Ability to anticipate bottlenecks, adapt to changing schedules, and communicate solutions effectively.
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in construction sites (preferred).
Background in Construction Management, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or previous site-based operations leadership (preferred).
