About the Role

This role involves developing and delivering the Art and Education Program curriculum for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The instructor will lead engaging lesson plans, foster positive relationships with clients and partners, manage records in compliance with HIPAA, and contribute to program and community growth. The ideal candidate is passionate about educational and artistic expression, experienced in group teaching, and dedicated to creating a supportive environment that promotes independence and joy for individuals with I/DD.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and instruct the Art and Education Program curriculum for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Lead groups with engaging lesson plans.
  • Cultivate positive, professional relationships with staff, clients, families, community, and provider partners.
  • Oversee record keeping and case notes in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Contribute to program and community growth.
  • Meet goals set by the Art and Education Program Manager and Site Coordinator.
  • Design, research, develop, and implement engaging curriculum for I/DD learners.
  • Lead medium to large groups of I/DD learners to enhance independence through a robust education program.
  • Assist the Education Manager with education, art studio, class instruction, client safety, client instruction, client behavior redirection, volunteers, and interns.
  • Support the Education Manager and Site Coordinator in managing daily art studio, gallery, and education programs.
  • Write daily attendance and progress notes for client billing, adhering to contract provider guidelines.
  • Organize the classroom and supplies for efficiency.
  • Build relationships to foster community growth.
  • Participate in fundraising efforts to achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Availability Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, in person.
  • Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Marble Falls, TX.
  • Possess reliable transportation for independent travel to the job site.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid ID or Driver's License and proof of car insurance.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students with disabilities, parents, administrative staff, and co-workers.
  • Experience using a computer and Microsoft products independently.
