About the Role

AI will play a significant role in how Stake builds products, serves customers and operates as we continue to scale. This role sits at the centre of that transformation. As an AI Engineer, you'll help shape how generative AI is embedded across Stake. You'll work on products used by hundreds of thousands of customers, while also unlocking new ways for teams across the business to move faster, make better decisions and deliver exceptional experiences. You'll join a high-performing team with the autonomy to experiment, the ambition to tackle meaningful problems and the opportunity to see your work create real impact. From customer-facing experiences to internal AI systems, you'll help turn emerging technology into practical, scalable solutions that move the business forward. Reporting to the Head of Data and AI, you'll partner closely with engineers, product managers and data specialists to design, build and deploy AI-powered products and platforms. You'll play a key role in defining how AI is applied at Stake and help establish the technical foundations that support our next phase of growth.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered products and experiences that create meaningful value for customers and teams across Stake.
• Lead the design, development and deployment of production-grade generative AI systems across GCP.
• Architect scalable AI infrastructure, services and workflows that enable rapid experimentation and reliable delivery.
• Partner with product, engineering, operations and data teams to identify high-impact opportunities where AI can unlock better outcomes.
• Evaluate emerging models, frameworks and techniques, translating new advances into practical applications for the business.
• Establish engineering standards, patterns and best practices for AI development across Stake.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code and contribute to a culture of technical excellence, ownership and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and strong programming skills especially Python.
• Built and deployed customer-facing AI products at scale.
• Worked with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic systems or evaluation frameworks.
• Developed AI platforms, tooling or infrastructure that enabled other teams to build faster.
• Worked in fintech, investing, marketplaces or other highly regulated environments.
• Contributed to AI strategy, governance or adoption beyond your immediate engineering team.
• Experience or exposure to Java, GO, JavaScript or other languages.
