Responsibilities
- Set high performance standards for staff and peers.
- Understand surgical procedures and anticipate staff and surgeon needs.
- Confirm video and surgical equipment functionality during pre-operative setup.
- Arrange monitors and equipment based on surgeon preferences.
- Verify proper connection and operation of all necessary equipment intra-operatively.
- Address supply needs promptly and assist OR staff.
- Collect and inventory instruments and equipment for cleaning and sterilization post-operatively.
- Maintain strict standards for decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
- Ensure no instruments remain at shift end.
- Manage laparoscopic equipment, including routine maintenance and repair coordination.
- Keep surgeon preference cards current and accurate.
- Provide consistent, high-quality service and foster professional relationships with OR staff.
- Demonstrate punctuality and flexibility, available for on-call and rotational shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Learn and effectively utilize all required company technologies.
- Use company devices to access systems like ADP, Outlook, Concur, Slack, and SCMP.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and hospital operations.
- Manage company property responsibly; loss or damage may result in repayment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) or Certified Surgical Technician preferred.
- Obtain CRCST within 120 days of hire (may be required upon hire for some accounts).
- One year of OR and/or Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience preferred.
- 2–5 years of face-to-face customer service experience required.
- Strong communication skills to anticipate and respond quickly and accurately.
- Availability for 24/7 hospital coverage, including rotational shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
- Ability to perform tasks involving bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, and maneuvering heavy equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or carry items up to 50 pounds (or more with assistance).
- Meet vision and hearing requirements, including color recognition.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, gowns, and eye protection.
Skills
- Reliable with consistent on-site attendance.
- Ability to work any day Sunday–Saturday, including 24/7 rotational coverage.
- Capable of working under high-stress conditions and making critical decisions in emergencies.
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues while maintaining professionalism.
- Ability to thrive independently and as a team player with respect and consideration for others.
- Ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced hospital environment with exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemical disinfectants, and infectious materials.

Experience Level
