About the Role
This vital role connects customers with Amgen by providing clinical product knowledge to medical professionals and assisting with complex payer environments. The Specialty Representative/Senior Specialty Representative serves as the primary customer contact, implementing marketing strategy and promoting Amgen products under the District Manager's guidance, delivering on the commitment to serve patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate product utilization
- Perform as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following-up with medical educational programs, and exceeding sales targets through in-person and virtual engagement
- Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, customizing discussions based on customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving/triaging reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with the District Manager
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and foster professional growth
- Demonstrate passion for products throughout the sales cycle, building the brand and focusing on patient service

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Associate's degree and 4 years of Sales experience
- High school diploma/GED and 6 years of Sales experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales related)
- Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales related)
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales related)
- Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry (Preferred)
- Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology or infectious diseases (Preferred)
- Local market knowledge (Preferred)
- Established relationships in the territory (Preferred)
