About the Role
Ghirardelli seeks Retail Hourly Associates to be brand ambassadors, provide world-class guest experiences, merchandise, stock, and sell premium chocolate. This role is crucial for the company's vision to be America's #1 premium chocolate company and to enhance the consumer's chocolate experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional guest service.
- Manage cash handling and credit card processing according to company procedures.
- Assemble proprietary retail items per recipe guidelines.
- Maintain adequate supply of retail product on the sales floor and in back stock.
- Ensure all products are appropriately priced and signed.
- Maintain sales floor and products to company standards for cleanliness, arrangement, and display.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of all products, pricing, and company history.
- Utilize product knowledge to satisfy guest inquiries and create up-sell opportunities.
- Gift-wrap items for sale per company guidelines.
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain clean and sanitary conditions for table tops, serve ware, floors, and trash receptacles.
- Keep all fountain and condiment supplies stocked and in good condition.
- Maintain the stockroom in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Clean windows and mirrors as needed or directed by a supervisor/manager.
- Maintain guest and employee washing facilities in good working order and sanitary condition.
- Properly set up, maintain, and break down the fountain area.
- Replenish toppings and fountain items throughout the day, minimizing food waste.
- Maintain proper levels and required ice cream flavors.
- Keep knowledge current on all fountain products and their preparation.
- Work as a "Topper" or "Scooper" as needed.
- Perform "Semi-Table Service" for guest satisfaction.
- Maintain all candy making equipment and supplies, and know all recipes.
- Perform Chocolateer tasks including cashiering, candy making, stocking merchandise, pre-packing, and fountain duties.
- Merchandise, stock, and provide excellent guest service while selling premium chocolate.
- Maintain the brand image and equity by correctly representing the company.
Requirements
- Previous retail experience is desirable.
- Must be high energy.
- Reliable.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Must be 18 years old.
- For San Francisco based employees: fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as defined by the order of the health officer (C19-07y-Safer Return Together).
Skills
- Basic math computation skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
