About the Role

The Senior Institutional Partnerships Officer will be part of the Institutional Partnerships team within the Global Development Department, focusing on the strategic development and management of key institutional funders (foundations and potential corporate entities). This role provides effective leadership to fundraising and administrative staff on the Institutional Partnerships team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships, the Officer will partner with senior staff across the organization to successfully solicit, steward, and cultivate a portfolio of institutional funders that provide significant support for EDF's worldwide mission.

Responsibilities

Secure and steward 6-8 figure awards from new and existing institutional funders.
Identify and evaluate funding opportunities.
Provide strategic guidance to Mission teams on funding alignment.
Collaborate with Mission staff to conceptualize, prepare, and submit concept notes, proposals, reports, and communications materials.
Manage a portfolio of funders, serving as a liaison and informational contact.
Prepare materials for funder meetings and participate as appropriate.
Contribute to accurate funder and income/projections information in Salesforce database.
Develop and maintain strong knowledge of EDF's programmatic work.
Represent environmental programs through written and oral communications.
Make independent and collaborative decisions in donor cultivation and stewardship.
Maintain extensive internal communication with Global Development, Mission, Finance, Enterprise, and Executive teams.
Actively contribute to improving best practices, procedures, and developing new cultivation strategies and tools.
Provide oversight and mentoring to mid-level officers and administrative staff.
Participate in advancing EDF values of inclusion and empowerment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
Minimum of eight years of demonstrated success in non-profit fundraising, including securing and stewarding awards from institutional funders.
Experience critically reviewing budgets and financial information.
Experience working in a non-profit institution of comparable complexity and scale, including the ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed colleagues (preferred).
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and for work meetings.
