About the Role
This position reports to the Manager of Centralized Mortgage Lending. The role focuses on maintaining Landmark Credit Union’s reputation for competitive mortgage rates and high-quality customer service. Responsibilities include originating online mortgage applications, making immediate contact with borrowers, and acting as a mortgage loan originator.
Responsibilities
- Review internet applications to determine documentation needs and accuracy of information.
- Work with members to determine needs and appropriate products.
- Assist members with in-person or phone mortgage applications, obtain credit reports, and submit necessary paperwork to mortgage processors.
- Maintain relationship with branch and attend branch meetings on a regular basis.
- Serve as the primary contact for all parties throughout the process and cross-sell other Landmark products.
- Remain informed on Landmark’s loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two years of lending experience.
- National Mortgage Licensing System registration (NMLS#).
- Thorough understanding of all types of mortgage products.
- Experience or proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job, including systems related to deposit and loan products.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as a valuable team member in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
- Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position.
- Understand and comply with all job-related State and federal laws and regulations.
