About the Role
As a field-based Support Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all systems in retail stores, providing on-site support for smart hands guidance from SMEs. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Responsibilities
- Setting up new POS equipment, ensuring proper integration, and performing routine maintenance.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues related to POS hardware and software.
- Applying software updates, installing new features, and ensuring compatibility.
- Providing technical assistance to store staff and customers.
- Managing and maintaining an updated stock of spare parts for repairs.
- Working with store management and IT teams to prioritize maintenance needs.
- Collaborating with other support groups on-site as Smart Hands.
- Conducting health checks at assigned store locations.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a retail support environment.
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and basic business applications.
- Strong Customer Support Skills.
- Basic knowledge of networks, telecom, and servers.
- Hands-on knowledge of MacOS & iOS devices.
- This role is subject to a post-offer Background Verification.

- POS hardware and software (cash registers, scanners, printers, credit card processing systems).
- Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues efficiently.
- Interacting with customers politely, efficiently, and responsively.
- Proactive solution-driven approach.
- Interpersonal skills for communicating technical information.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- A+, MCP, MCSE or equivalent certification desired.
