About the Role

Optiver is seeking an experienced Fixed Income ETF Trader to establish and run a new desk, expanding our ETF coverage to include fixed-income products within the D1 Trading Team in Sydney.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run the Fixed Income ETF desk, extending our existing equity-ETF presence.
  • Quote, execute, and manage risk in fixed-income ETFs across APAC - both on-screen and OTC.
  • Collaborate with quants, engineers, and other traders to identify and capture trading opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years trading experience in ETFs and/or Fixed Income within APAC; China Fixed Income exposure highly valued.
  • Deep knowledge of bond-market structure and how ETFs interact with the primary market.
  • Solid grasp of Fixed Income-ETF valuation, basket construction, liquidity sourcing and creation/redemption mechanics.
  • Proficiency in Python (or similar) for data analysis; SQL or C++ a plus.
  • Clear, concise communication style; ability to work closely with quants, technologists and external counterparties.
