About the Role
Middle Office provides independent control of trading activities, validating the trading balance sheet and ensuring accurate P&L reporting. The team supports the business by providing timely and accurate information and optimizing operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Accountability for the execution and timely reporting of daily P&L through validation and ownership of the trading balance sheet and trading position reporting, in line with global policy.
- Ownership of the month-end Trading ledger process, ensuring accounting in accordance with IFRS pronouncements.
- Creating simplified reporting to understand and explain desk trading strategies.
- Applying knowledge of technology to create solutions for the monitoring, reporting, and accounting of financial instruments.
- Serving as the primary escalation point for the Middle Office Team to advise, train, and assist the Team in delivering workflow efficiencies.
- Guiding and supporting junior team members.
- Identifying and initiating small projects to improve efficiencies.
- Supporting Middle Office team with ad hoc improvement requests.
- Ensuring operational optimization for new trading initiatives.
Requirements
- Information Technology, Data Science or related degree and/or Finance or related degree with strong technology and data capabilities.
- Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- 3+ years in creating and delivering Technology based solutions.
- Additional experience in Data Science or AI solutions desirable.
- Strong understanding of coding and creating automated solutions.
- Self-Starter with strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
