About the Role

Our Software Engineers build proprietary trading systems that directly impact financial markets. Our teams leverage technology to solve complex problems, requiring responses in microseconds, automatic pricing of diverse financial instruments with low error tolerance, and analysis of terabytes of market data. User interfaces must provide responsive real-time visualizations and intuitive control of complex systems. Core systems must offer a stable, performant, and trusted foundation. At Optiver, engineers collaborate closely with traders to identify and solve business problems using a disciplined, scientific approach, engineering simple, well-architected solutions that meet dynamic trading needs.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, support, and maintain trading systems, tools, and infrastructure
Collaborate deeply with traders, risk analysts, researchers, and other engineers
Gain and develop an in-depth understanding of trading theory and practice

Requirements

Strong engineering instincts and a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals
Experience writing software in C++, C#, C, and/or Python
A passion for clean code, simple well-architected systems, and continuous improvement
Ability to collaborate with developers, traders, and business operations
