About the Role
Optiver is seeking Software Engineers specializing in US corporate bond and credit derivative markets to join the greenfield buildout of our systematic credit trading business. Our Software Engineers lead large technical projects, help set the direction for our trading infrastructure, and leverage technology to enable business success. The credit engineering team works closely with researchers and traders to design a system for trading bonds, fixed income ETFs (in close collaboration with our cash equities business), and other credit derivative products.
Responsibilities
- Establish vision and technical direction for major credit trading initiatives.
- Design, develop, support, and maintain credit trading infrastructure, including RFQ, create/redeem, portfolio trading, OMS, and EMS platforms.
- Contribute to pricing, research, and trading models for market-making and proprietary trading strategies.
- Collaborate with traders and researchers to solve trading problems and build the business.
- Participate in greenfield project development.
Requirements
- Strong engineering instincts and deep understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Programming experience in C++ or C; other object-oriented languages considered.
- Experience optimizing high-throughput systems for real-time processing of pricing and trade data.
- Familiarity with market microstructure and trading domain for US corporate credit markets, fixed income ETFs, and/or credit derivatives (CDS, CDX indices).
- Experience with connectivity to electronic trading venues and FIX protocol for credit markets.
- Ability to set technical direction, promote strong engineering principles, and optimize systems in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to identify opportunities for performance, efficiency, and maintainability enhancements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with traders, researchers, and technologists.
