About the Role
Lead large technical projects, set trading infrastructure direction, and leverage technology for business success in US cash equities and ETF markets. Develop systems for low-latency market data ingestion, efficient pricing, hedging, and order execution with minimal error tolerance. Refine, store, and analyze market data, and create responsive real-time user interfaces for complex system control.
Responsibilities
- Establish the vision and technical direction for major cash equities trading initiatives.
- Design, develop, support, and maintain low-latency equities trading infrastructure, including order management systems (OMS) and execution management systems (EMS).
- Contribute to pricing, research, and trading models for market-making and proprietary trading strategies in US equities and US ETFs.
- Develop a deep understanding of exchange-specific protocols, order book dynamics, and exchange connectivity.
- Optimize data processing pipelines for market data from multiple exchanges at scale, continuously improving execution speed and system performance.
- Work closely with FPGA engineers to leverage hardware acceleration for ultra-low-latency execution and integrate FPGAs with software-driven trading infrastructure.
- Collaborate with traders, engineers, and researchers to evolve execution logic and market impact models.
Requirements
- Familiarity with the market microstructure of the US Equities and/or US ETF markets.
- Strong engineering instincts and a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Programming experience across C++ or C, with other object-orientated languages also considered.
- Experience building large-scale low-latency trading systems, including market data ingestion, order routing, and execution performance.
- Experience with exchange connectivity, order matching, and execution logic for major venues.
- Experience optimizing high-throughput systems that process and react in real-time to market data streams.
- Familiarity with building and integrating FPGA-assisted trading systems.
- Innovative, big-picture thinking grounded in real-world pragmatism.
- Readiness to set technical direction, promote strong engineering principles, and continuously refine and optimize systems in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to spot opportunities to enhance performance, efficiency, and maintainability.
