About the Role
Reporting to the Flow Assurance Study Manager, this position provides Flow Assurance analysis and technical support for Genesis projects. The engineer will be part of the UK flow assurance team and the wider global flow assurance community, operating independently to lead studies and assist in developing junior engineers. Significant experience with OLGA is essential. The role involves front-end conceptual studies, detailed design, and operational support, requiring the identification of optimal solutions based on client drivers and clear communication through reports and presentations. The engineer is responsible for the quality of all Flow Assurance work on assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring completion of safe and operable design in accordance with Genesis and project requirements, relevant laws, regulations and codes.
- Reviewing and preparing job scopes and providing estimates and schedules.
- Communicating regularly with Client/ Study Manager to ensure objectives are being met in a timely manner.
- Liaising with other disciplines for applicable engineering interfaces.
- Developing engineering solutions to specific project requirements.
- Developing flow assurance strategies, philosophies and procedures.
- Preparation and checking of flow assurance calculations and reports.
- Undertaking calculations in accordance with Genesis and project quality requirements.
- Creating and performing simulations of selected cases as defined.
- Participating in flow assurance business development activities to support UK and other Genesis offices.
- Participating in engineering coordination meetings.
- Participating in Project presentations to communicate results.
- Participating in safety and design review meetings, where necessary.
- Participating in Genesis global flow assurance team knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Supporting team leader and performing all reasonable job tasks required by supervisor.
Requirements
- Recognised flow assurance professional with upstream oil and gas experience.
- Dedicated Flow Assurance experience using OLGA.
- First Degree in Chemical Engineering (or related subject) and CEng &/or PEng or equivalent international qualifications.
- Experience in flow assurance conceptual and front-end studies.
- Experience in flow assurance in detailed design and/or operational support preferred.
- Experience in marketing and business development is beneficial, including awareness of the local flow assurance market.
- Good computer literacy with particular competence in MS Office software.
- CO2 flow assurance experience
- Experience with OLGA, PipeSIM / PipePhase, PVTSim,
- Experience with Leda Flow, Maximus, PIPENET, Flow Master, CFD and/or FEA would be preferable.
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics and experience with Multiflash preferred.
- Full command of the English language, verbal and written.
- Good report writing skills.
