About the Role

This role involves processing ACH originations and returns, share drafts, ATM, bill pay, and Zelle inquiries, along with managing incoming adjustments and general ledger reconciliations. The specialist provides departmental support and ensures all processes and services comply with credit union policies, procedures, and relevant federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Payment Systems Specialist I tasks.
  • Execute daily share draft exception processing.
  • Generate daily return share draft files.
  • Download and process daily in-clearing files for same-day posting.
  • Resolve Zelle processing errors and adjust accounts.
  • Collaborate with bill pay providers to resolve member payment issues.
  • Download, research, and process incoming ATM adjustments and returns from external financial institutions.
  • Review ATM deposit images and perform deposit adjustments/returns.
  • Generate and process all files from ACH origination systems, resolving exceptions.
  • Download ACH origination returns, research, and perform adjustments.
  • Download, review, and process incoming ACH notification of change requests.
  • Reconcile and maintain assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Research and identify general ledger discrepancies.
  • Review daily general ledger reconciliations from Accounting, researching out-of-balance discrepancies related to Payment Systems.
  • Process role-related tickets for Payment Systems accurately and timely.
  • Suggest process streamlining and update role-related procedures.
  • Support and guide Payment Systems Level I staff on department processes.
  • Assist with departmental and organizational projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to reconcile general ledger accounts and identify outstanding variances.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Proficiency in basic personal computer skills in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, applications, and tools.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities, including the ability to adjust focus.

Salary/Compensations

  • Hourly rate of $33.10 to $49.64
