About the Role
European Homecare GmbH is a social service provider that has been entrusted with the care, accommodation, and support of asylum seekers and homeless individuals for over 30 years. We are seeking multiple social workers (m/f/d) for our facility in 12526 Berlin, to start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Consultation, support, guidance, and activation of self-help skills for those affected.
- Daily life support, including information on life, rights, and obligations in Germany.
- Support and promotion of peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution.
- Assistance with official matters and accompaniment to medical appointments.
- Daily life and leisure activities, considering pedagogical aspects.
- Collaboration with clients, volunteers, and external specialists, associations, and organizations (networking).
Requirements
- Completed degree (Bachelor or Master) in Social Work, Social Pedagogy, Social Management, or Social Psychology, OR at least 6 years of professional experience and knowledge in Social Work, Social Pedagogy, or Social Counseling.
- Assertiveness, conflict management skills, and independent work style.
- Very good German language skills; additional foreign languages (e.g., French, Arabic, Albanian, Russian, Mandarin, Tigrinya, etc.) are advantageous.
- Experience with people from different cultures or working with refugees is advantageous.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proof of measles vaccination according to the Infection Protection Act (IfSG) and an extended police clearance certificate without entries are required.
