About the Role

The Sales Estimator is responsible for translating project documentation and drawings into accurate documents for building, quantifying, and pricing competitive solutions. This role reports to the National Estimating Manager and can be based in any Australian Schneider location.

Responsibilities

• Create consistent and accurate pricing estimates using standard company tools.
• Analyze tender documentation to produce a Bill of Quantities (BOQ) with inclusions, exclusions, demarcation, subcontractor RFQs, and RFIs.
• Provide accurate estimates of labor requirements for project activities across PM, engineering, installation, and commissioning.
• Produce value-added solution-engineered designs.
• Create clarity in ambiguous situations.
• Align with the CPP to manage opportunity risk.
• Provide well-written and relevant technical documents for the design assist process.
• Conduct accurate take-offs, points lists, and equipment lists.
• Continuously develop technical capability with Schneider Electric solutions.
• Create working topologies of specific solutions.
• Support the Sales team to create synergy and focused client solutions.
• Network and collaborate with team members and engineering resources to enhance solutions and share best practices.
• Engage with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) throughout the bid process.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a previous estimating role in the engineering sector is desirable but not essential.
• Technical experience in mechanical & electrical goods is desirable however not essential.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• A love of learning and a passion for developing new solutions and using new technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-directed, autonomous with an ability to manage time effectively, working to deadlines.
• Self-motivated and confident, with finesse at building relationships quickly.
• Sound understanding of standard disciplines across IT, BMS, Security, Electrical, Mechanical and SMART services.
