About the Role
As Founding Sales Engineer, you will be the technical face of Corridor for every prospect. You will partner with the founding Account Executive to win early enterprise customers, design the technical sales motion, and develop a repeatable demo, POV, and discovery playbook. This 0→1 role offers significant influence on the product, go-to-market strategy, and customer base.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Account Executive to drive opportunities from technical discovery to close.
- Conduct live demos and architecture deep-dives for security leaders, platform teams, and engineering executives.
- Design and execute Proof-of-Value engagements in customer environments, integrating Corridor with AI coding tools and CI/CD/SDLC tooling.
- Translate customer workflows, AppSec tooling, and security policies into Corridor implementation plans.
- Build the foundation of the Sales Engineering function, including demo environments, discovery frameworks, and technical collateral.
- Serve as a liaison between the field and product team, providing insights to engineering and leadership.
- Represent the company at industry events, customer onsites, and security forums.
Requirements
- 5+ years in sales engineering, solutions architecture, or pre-sales, ideally selling to security, AppSec, or developer-tools buyers.
- Proven track record of winning technical evaluations against incumbents at enterprise customers.
- Hands-on fluency with modern SDLC: Git, CI/CD, IDEs, and code review workflows.
- Working understanding of application security: SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets management, secure SDLC, threat modeling, and vulnerability triage.
- Comfort with AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) and their security risks, or ability to learn quickly.
- A builder's mindset, eager to create new playbooks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for customer onsites, POVs, and industry events.
- Experience at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series B) building an SE function.
- Background in DevSecOps, AppSec, or developer tools.
- Hands-on coding background or prior engineering role; comfort writing scripts for POVs.
- Familiarity with agentic coding workflows, MCP integrations, and modern AI developer tooling.
- Existing relationships in security or AppSec leadership communities.
