About the Role
Reporting to the Food Services Coordinator, the Relief Food Services Worker assists in the production and delivery of healthy meals to clients at St. Michael’s Homes, supporting their recovery from addictions. This role involves assisting with all Food Services activities, including inventory, receiving, storing, cooking, disposal, and cleaning, while adhering to food safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Food Services Coordinator in the execution of duties.
- Helps prepare and cook food for daily client meals.
- Cleans food storage, preparation, and delivery facilities.
- Models and articulates best practices in Food Services to staff and clients.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Two years’ experience in Food Services and/or Hospitality.
- Awareness and appreciation of client needs specific to the addictions and mental health field.
- Completion of standard staff training modules.
- Food Handler Certification.
- Experience cooking for large groups.
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. / 23 kg.
