About the Role

The Development Director, School Engagement, is a full-time, field-based fundraising and sales role focused on engaging K-12 students in Eastern Connecticut with the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs. This position promotes physical activity and learning, raises funds for cardiovascular and brain health, and involves extensive data management in CRM databases. The role requires daily travel and flexible hours to accommodate school and event schedules, contributing to the American Heart Association's mission for a healthier future.

Responsibilities

Meet a fundraising goal of $385K through participant income and corporate sponsorship.
Recruit and engage students in Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs.
Implement strategies to engage students through classroom challenges, activities, and assemblies.
Develop and cultivate relationships with teachers, principals, and district superintendents.
Provide outstanding customer service to volunteers and collaborators, including planning and kick-off meetings.
Manage and continuously update account information in CRM databases and Microsoft products.
Perform high-volume account management, working with 5-10 schools daily.

Requirements

3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields.
Ability to travel daily locally with reliable transportation.
University/College degree or equivalent experience.
Ability to work productively from a home office and in the field.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate proactively.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Extensive data management skills, including continuous updating of CRM databases.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM data management and reporting.
Ability to lift and/or move large objects, with heavier items broken down or assistance requested.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and evenings.
