About the Role

The Child Development Center is hiring a full-time Site Director for its licensed After School CREW Program, serving elementary students across 11 schools in Southwest Austin. This role involves leading daily site operations, managing assistant teachers, creating engaging enrichment activities, and building positive relationships with students, families, and school partners. This opportunity is for an organized, hands-on leader dedicated to making a meaningful impact in children’s lives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee school site development and facilitation.
  • Assume full responsibility for site operations, program implementation, community relations, and staff development.
  • Oversee daily program operations, assist in mentoring children, and provide guidance to assistant teachers.
  • Create a safe and enjoyable environment for students and staff.
  • Manage program staff and ensure adherence to CDC policies and licensing standards.
  • Attend special events to promote the program.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, school district leaders, state licensing authorities, and staff.
  • Create and ensure implementation of developmentally and age-appropriate lesson plans and activities aligned with Texas Rising Star.
  • Create high-quality monthly newsletters for families.
  • Provide on-site lunch monitoring at the assigned elementary school.
  • Maintain compliance with Texas Rising Star and licensing standards.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of teaching experience in a licensed program.
  • 1+ years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Education (preferred).
  • General computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Meet Texas Department of Health and Human Services (Child Care Licensing) requirements.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Available to work Monday through Friday.
  • Pass state and national background check.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
