About the Role
This role focuses on attracting contractors to the Workyard brand and building market demand beyond existing acquisition channels. It involves making Workyard a recognized name among contractors through trade events, communities, and partnerships. The scope includes brand, positioning, demand generation, enablement, and customer marketing.
Responsibilities
- Sharpen Workyard's pitch to engage contractors quickly.
- Establish Workyard's presence and influence in contractor events, communities, and channels.
- Enhance the effectiveness of sales and partnerships.
- Develop happy contractors into case studies, references, advocates, and sources of expansion revenue.
- Define market positioning, including company description, target audience, differentiators, and core messaging.
- Lead demand generation through events, LinkedIn, community, forums, content, and partnerships.
- Manage customer marketing, including case studies, references, testimonials, and account expansion.
- Personally execute initial marketing initiatives to prove effectiveness.
- Scale proven marketing strategies by organizing resources and deploying budget.
Requirements
- Experience as an unproven operator with a strong drive, background in challenging fields like consulting, finance, ops, or product, and self-taught marketing acumen.
- Experience as an operator who has led marketing efforts at an early-stage company or learned from a high-performing team.
- World-class craft in producing and directing marketing artifacts (copy, deck spine, booth design, one-pagers).
- Ability to listen, gather signals, and translate them into compelling stories.
- Strong bias for action and self-fueled execution.
- Capacity to absorb problems and find solutions independently.
- Resourceful and technical, capable of data analysis and independent system use.
- Intellectual curiosity to deeply understand new topics.
- Strategic ability to debate prioritization and positioning with leadership.
- Commercial obsession with pipeline and revenue as primary performance indicators.
