About the Role

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for inspecting and monitoring all facets of quality assurance, ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements. This role is part of our Dairy Food business, contributing to the creation of simple, good dairy products.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and monitor all facets of quality assurance.
  • Perform all QA inspections, verifications, and tests.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring in the plant and follow up.
  • Maintain accurate logs and update data in online systems.
  • View system inventory, place products on hold, and release them as appropriate.
  • Execute special tasks and projects under the direction of a Supervisor.
  • Train new QA team members when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all Food Safety and Regulatory Requirements.
  • Comply with all safety processes and insist on safety practices of self and others.
  • Show up on time, complete tasks by deadlines, and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Perform analyses, inspections, sampling, and testing of all stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property.
  • Evaluate non-conforming results and initiate re-sampling, re-testing, and/or hold procedures.
  • Perform a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples.
  • Aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus to ensure compliance.
  • Work with Quality Assurance Managers, Lab Supervisors and staff to foster and develop Quality programs.
  • Assist plant with onboarding and training of employees.
  • Multi-task and keep up with production demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • 1+ years of experience in any industry in a laboratory.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Able to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, problem-solve and troubleshoot.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Always respectful.
  • Self-reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervision.
  • Able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements.
  • Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Working in temperature zones that include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods.
  • May include areas where dust and chemicals are present.
  • Required to work scheduled shift which may include weekends, some holidays, and periodic overtime.
  • Must be able to accommodate a temporary schedule adjustment during the training period.
