About the Role

The Broker Assistant provides operational support to the brokerage team, handling day-to-day tasks efficiently. This role ensures seamless daily operations, compliance with regulations, and effective communication within the team. The assistant collaborates with brokers to complete transactions promptly by processing paperwork and coordinating with other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing and coordinating day-to-day brokerage operations and support the implementation and improvement of operational procedures
  • Coordinate with brokers to prepare documents and cover letters for marketing renewal business
  • Provide administrative support in filing, printing, and archiving documents
  • Administer and update new and current client information accurately in all required systems
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of client accounts, transactions, and relevant documentation
  • Ensure compliance with record-keeping regulations
  • Perform customer service functions by answering broker requests and questions via telephone, email, chat, or in person
  • Contribute to the preparation of compliance reports related to brokerage operations
  • Collaborate across broker and finance teams on business requirements
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating operational risks
  • Collaborate with risk management teams to implement controls
  • Support the Brokerage team with ad hoc tasks and requests

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Active Property & Casualty license or willingness to obtain within the first 45 days of employment (Highly Preferred)
  • 1+ years of Commercial insurance experience (Highly Preferred)
