About the Role

You will coordinate La Cocina large scale events across multiple stakeholders to create access to market opportunities that result in revenue generation for our entrepreneurs and La Cocina while continuing to develop our brand and reputation throughout the Bay Area. You also aim to create new profitable sales opportunities for our entrepreneurs and La Cocina through strategic industry partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Dedicate 20% of time (approximately 400 hours) to centering entrepreneurs, providing technical assistance to program participants and graduates.
  • Participate and engage directly with businesses, including attending soft openings and promoting businesses at networking events.
  • Support events that center businesses, such as loading in and out at Outside Lands.
  • Motivate self and others to achieve organizational goals, adhering to core values of hospitality, community, opportunity, and inclusivity.
  • Collaborate across La Cocina teams to identify, coordinate, and support opportunities for entrepreneur success, guided by the organization's mission and values.
  • Cultivate and maintain local industry partnerships and resources to build a pipeline of access-to-market opportunities for entrepreneurs.
  • Steward relationships with key stakeholders and partners to expand business opportunities and strengthen community connections.
  • Collaborate across teams to develop and execute the annual events calendar within budget.
  • Lead coordination with internal teams, sponsors, consultants, volunteers, and external partners for successful event execution.
  • Oversee sponsor relationships and coordinate marketing efforts with the communications team.
  • Ensure staff and volunteer roles are clearly defined and communicated.
  • Partner with the program team to support entrepreneur readiness and participant business success.
  • Perform other assigned duties aligned with role's skill set and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Participate in annual organizational planning and budgeting processes.
  • Participate in the annual review process for other staff members.
  • Support recruiting initiatives for open roles within the organization.
  • Diligently use and efficiently respond to technology systems, including Salesforce, for impact reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service, focusing on understanding and meeting customer needs.
  • Committed to creating positive experiences through active listening, problem-solving, and a customer-first approach.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth through new product development, marketing, branding, and partnerships.
  • Effective management of P&L and overall business strategy.
  • Skilled in using data analytics to evaluate business metrics for informed strategic decisions.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex concepts and adapt teaching methods to various learning styles.
  • Foster an engaging, inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and knowledge retention.
  • Passionate commitment to racial and gender equity in business ownership.
  • Deep experience working within low-income communities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Thoughtful and eager participant in community-wide events and initiatives.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
