About the Role
World Relief seeks an Employment Program Specialist to provide critical services and counsel to refugees and other eligible persons for initial employment, career advancement, and job upgrade opportunities. This role supports economic self-sufficiency by preparing clients for employment, placing them in jobs, counseling on career pathways, and expanding employer networks. This is a limited-term, hybrid position until 9/30/26, contingent on funding.
Responsibilities
- Connect with new employers to advocate for client hiring
- Research new job opportunities beyond entry-level positions
- Research vocational trainings and guide clients in career path development
- Learn best practices for client employment through training attendance
- Maintain regular client communication via home visits, phone calls, and office visits
- Monitor files for required documents and compliance with RSS Employment Guidelines
- Enter employment information into the ClientTrack database weekly
- Maintain detailed and accurate case notes for all client interactions
- Assist clients in developing letters of recommendation, resumes, and applications
- Attend scheduled meetings and maintain regular office hours
- Provide transportation to interviews, orientations, and initial employment as needed
- Assist clients with employment forms, drug screening tests, and securing state documentation
- Maintain open communication with current employers, reporting issues to the Program Manager
- Notify Program Manager of potential new employers to foster relationships
- Equip clients to conduct independent employment searches
- Assist clients with job retention and upward mobility as needed
- Refer clients to other programs and services as needed
- Conduct and update initial employment orientation sessions for refugees
Requirements
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Relief's Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity, and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Bachelor’s degree or at least one-year experience in an office environment
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
