About the Role
This dual role ensures safe and timely material transportation and rigorous quality control of products within a manufacturing environment. The position involves managing delivery routes, adhering to safety standards, and conducting detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards. This role supports high product quality, minimizes defects, and bridges logistics with quality assurance for seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Document inspection results accurately and report any deviations or non-conformities to the quality management team for corrective action.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine maintenance checks to ensure operational safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Operate commercial vehicles such as dump trucks and box trucks to transport materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
- Comply with all DOT regulations and company policies to ensure safety and legal operation of commercial vehicles.
- Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Read and interpret maps, delivery schedules, and transportation instructions to plan routes and meet delivery deadlines.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate company vehicles safely.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of quality standards and inspection techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and quality specifications.
- Experience operating commercial vehicles or forklifts.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and safety regulations.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with quality management software and electronic documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Compliance with ITAR requirements.
- Must be a “U.S. Person” (per ITAR 120.15) and are required to show proof substantiating this upon being hired.
