About the Role

Provide assistance and information to individuals meeting arriving passengers, and handle baggage issues including lost, damaged, and pilfered luggage.

Responsibilities

  • Greet arriving passengers in the claim area.
  • Provide assistance and information to individuals meeting arriving passengers.
  • Determine customer service needs.
  • Assist with baggage issues, including lost, damaged, and pilfered luggage.
  • Make baggage arrival announcements.
  • Log each flight as bags are delivered to the claim area.
  • Update records with later-arriving bag information.
  • Initiate files for lost, damaged, and pilfered baggage.
  • Handle irregularities associated with the internal baggage process.
  • Monitor damage claims and make settlements.
  • Coordinate the return of lost and/or damaged luggage to customers.
  • Prepare bag delivery orders and arrange for delivery services.
  • Speak and be understood.
  • Hear and comprehend the English language.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Be able to relocate in the event of an emergency.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 70lbs or more.
  • Must be able to stand, squat, kneel, and walk 70% or more of the scheduled work time.
  • Must be able to maintain customer service professionalism while under pressure and in a stressful environment.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to relocate in the event of an emergency.
