About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular Full Time Business Continuity Specialist to join the Enterprise Risk Management team. This role is crucial for developing, implementing, and improving the organization's Business Continuity Program, acting as a strategic partner to mature organizational resilience and preparedness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Program.
  • Identify threats and vulnerabilities and develop resiliency strategies.
  • Design and deliver awareness and training initiatives on organizational preparedness.
  • Maintain the Incident Management Plan and support coordination of response activities during disruptions.
  • Lead the design and execution of business continuity exercises and testing activities.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of business continuity tools and systems.

Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education, preferably a university degree in a related field.
  • 5-6 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of supply chain, manufacturing or healthcare industry concepts and issues is preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management principles is an asset.
  • General management and leadership experience.
  • Certifications or training in Business Continuity/Incident Management, such as Incident Command System (ICS), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) or Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) would be an asset.
  • Experience implementing or maintaining business continuity software is an asset.
  • Up-to-date resume required for application.
