About the Role
The Work Readiness Coordinator develops and delivers work readiness and career exploration instruction for students and adults with disabilities. This role focuses on building essential workplace skills, identifying career interests, and preparing individuals for competitive employment. Responsibilities include curriculum development, vocational assessment, individualized and group instruction, and coordinating community-based work experiences. The coordinator collaborates with schools, families, employers, and community partners to create inclusive career pathways, monitors progress, identifies accommodations, maintains documentation, and supports participants in achieving meaningful employment outcomes that promote independence and community inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve work readiness, career exploration, and workforce development curriculum tailored to diverse learning needs
- Deliver group and individualized instruction in classroom, community-based, and virtual settings
- Assist individuals with career planning, resume development, interview preparation, job applications, and employment goal setting
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, or related field plus three (3) years of experience providing employment and training services to people with disabilities or equivalent amount of education and experience
- Valid NYS Driver's License required
- Strong organizational, communication, instructional, and documentation skills essential
- Experience with curriculum development, vocational assessment, Pre-ETS, ACCES-VR services, and community-based employment services preferred
