About the Role
Hawk-Eye Innovations is seeking an experienced and autonomous Product Owner to lead a new product, platform, or technology through its initial discovery and development lifecycle. This role involves shaping R&D roadmaps, defining strategic OKRs, and managing stakeholder relationships to transition novel concepts into viable commercial solutions within the Innovation Hub, the research and development engine of Hawk-Eye.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the definitive voice of innovation, user needs, and business value.
- Own the team backlog, defining epics, features, and user stories.
- Proactively handle complex dependencies and time-critical priorities to maximize the ROI of R&D efforts.
- Actively contribute to and shape the strategic roadmap and vision for new solutions.
- Research emerging tech trends, track competitors, and perform deep analysis to propose new product concepts and technical improvements.
- Champion the product as its primary global ambassador.
- Lead high-level technical and business discussions.
- Align cross-functional engineering teams.
- Navigate highly ambiguous, experimental environments.
- Collaborate with Development Leads, Solution Architects, and QA to build robust prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
- Ensure a balance between rapid experimentation and foundational engineering quality.
- Define success metrics and monitor experimental data to guide business decisions.
- Ensure training, documentation, and foundational testing are executed flawlessly before transitioning new solutions.
Requirements
- 2–3+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner.
- Demonstrated growing autonomy in managing product lifecycles, ideation phases, and leading short-range roadmap definition.
- Advanced stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to align diverse cross-functional engineering teams, research leads, and high-profile external clients.
- Strong technical grounding with concrete experience managing technically complex products, data solutions, or R&D initiatives (e.g., AI, machine learning, computer vision).
- Strategic product execution experience, particularly in defining Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), proof-of-concepts, and setting clear OKRs in fluid environments.
- Superb leadership and communication skills with a knack for removing product-related obstacles, conducting trade-off analyses, and keeping priorities visible.
- Experience working on high-performance products within a business-to-business (B2B) setting.
- Experience in an R&D, lab, or startup environment bringing zero-to-one products to life.
- Enthusiasm for occasional international travel to collaborate directly with sports federations, teams, and tech partners trackside to test new solutions.
