Responsibilities

  • Design and operate Data Pipelines that power ifap DataServices, transforming curated drug, prescription, and clinical reference data into reliable, up-to-date, and performantly queryable datasets for SaaS products and partners.
  • Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines in Python with FastAPI services and Apache Spark/Scala workloads, focusing on data quality, lineage, observability, and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, AI Engineers, and Architects to design Data Products enabling new AI-native features and partner integrations.
  • Utilize Claude Code and AI Agents to accelerate the development of pipelines, schema migrations, and analyses.
  • Build reusable Data Engineering skills and workflows with the team.
  • Bring true engineering rigor to the data world, including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, stringent schema management, and clear ownership of pipelines and services.

Requirements

  • Several years of senior experience in Data Engineering with Python and a proven track record in operating production data pipelines in regulated or business-critical environments.
  • Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable technical field with very good results.
  • Very good SQL skills and experience with at least one modern data stack (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Spark/PySpark, Kafka) and cloud data platforms (ideally AWS), including Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and GitOps/ArgoCD.
  • Proficient use of version control, testing, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrably effective use of AI in software and data engineering, ideally with Claude Code or similar agentic tools (Agents, Skills, Workflows).
  • Experience in designing AI pipelines, harnesses, and context engineering.
  • Fluent German and fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, innovative spirit, high proactivity, and an entrepreneurial mindset aligned with the healthcare purpose and responsibility for patient safety.
