About the Role
As a Senior Contracts Manager, you will manage ongoing relationships and contracts between Climate Impact Partners and Funders/Offtakers, and work closely with the Carbon Project Delivery team on implementation agreements. This role focuses on existing projects and contracts, integrating new ones as the Commercial team onboard new deals. You will be the primary day-to-day contact for funders and corporates on contract matters for complex, structured deals.
Responsibilities
- Manage existing projects contracts, including long-term, multi-year contracts with corporates and funders.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met through coordination with internal teams.
- Manage contracts as part of a portfolio of Climate Impact Partner projects and deals.
- Build strong relationships with key funder and corporate partners, acting as the primary day-to-day contact for contract-related matters.
- Represent contract performance to senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft reports, manage KPIs, and handle KYC processes as associated with contract management.
- Support clients and funders in site visits and due diligence requests.
- Own, develop, and lead on risk frameworks for best practice in contract management.
- Develop and build a centralized contract management system for critical projects.
- Drive value optimization across contracts through pricing, delivery structures, and strategic alignment.
- Understand underlying project implementation contracts and build strong relationships with the Carbon Project Delivery team.
- Translate delivery performance into contractual and commercial outcomes.
- Renegotiate existing projects contracts where required.
- Provide feedback loops into new origination deals to continuously improve new deal structuring.
Requirements
- Significant experience in funder relationship management, ideally with both financial investors and corporates.
- Significant commercial contract management experience, including managing commercial negotiation of contract amendments and dispute resolution.
- Experience in carbon project experience, understanding the complexities of on the ground project delivery, and how contract delivery structures work.
- Experience in nature-based project development is preferred.
- Strong understanding of critical key contracts with the carbon space, including implementation agreements and ERPAs.
- Experience managing contracts of at least $15m ticket sizes.
- Exceptional attention to detail with legal documents and associated contracts.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of understanding and modeling financial scenarios.
- Ability to build new investment grade financial models.
- Experience building systems, tools, and solutions to improve role and organizational efficiency.
- Enjoys building relationships with counterparties (funders, corporates, and project implementation partners).
- Solution-focused and pragmatic.
