About the Role

The Area Manager is a Mid-Level Management Position which provides security-related expertise to an assigned FAA Regional Area of Responsibility. Serves as the primary ADC Manager for assigned FAA Sites providing direct supervision for Site Captains. In addition, acts as an Advisor to ADC Leadership regarding all physical security matters. Oversees Site Security Operations ensuring adherence to ADC and FAA Policies; Procedures related to physical security and upholding our Company Commitment, Mission, and Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact between FAA Site Captains and ADC Management, available for orders and instructions during routine or emergency situations.
  • Maintain excellent and effective communication with FAA Site Captains, Security Officers, Program Manager, Human Resources, FAA Site ATR, and FM, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Lead and supervise FAA Site Captains and Security Teams, fostering professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
  • Comprehend and adhere to ADC Policies, FAA Contract SOW, Facility Post Orders, Security Plan, Emergency Plan, Security Officer Manual, and CBAs; maintain knowledge of relevant Federal, State, and Local Laws.
  • Enforce compliance with all security protocols per Contract SOW, Post Orders, Security Officer Manual, Facility Security Plan, and Occupancy Emergency Plan; review and act on Monthly Compliance Reports.
  • Ensure all Officers comply with FAA requirements including certifications, licenses, and training as per Contract SOW.
  • Provide initial, ongoing, and refresher supervisor training for Site Captains.
  • Supervise Site Captains in providing initial, ongoing, and refresher training for Security Officers.
  • Ensure proper documentation and submission of all training records to Human Resources.
  • Supervise Site Captain and Security Officer performance and attendance, ensuring standards are met.
  • Recognize exceptional performance and provide coaching or corrective action for sub-standard performance in coordination with HR.
  • Supervise and/or conduct investigations and documentation of security and safety incidents.
  • Ensure proper completion and submission of incident reports.
  • Develop and implement preventive measures to minimize security and safety incidents, theft, and property damage.
  • Perform monthly site inspections and routine security/safety assessments across all shifts.
  • Identify and report potential security and safety risks, vulnerabilities, and threats.
  • Complete ADC Site Inspection Reports and implement preventive strategies.
  • Supervise regular Security Officer inspections for uniform, equipment, weapon, and grooming standards.
  • Supervise performance assessments for all Officers.
  • Supervise daily activity reporting by Officers and review by Site Captains.
  • Ensure Site Captains report significant incidents to ADC Management, FAA ATR, FM, and/or COR.
  • Report site status to ADC Management daily or as required.
  • Supervise the receipt and resolution of FAA facility complaints from COR, ATR, and/or FM.
  • Notify ADC Management and provide documentation of complaints and resolutions.
  • Mediate informal complaints and provide mentorship/counseling.
  • Notify Human Resources of complaints and provide documentation of actions taken.
  • Notify Human Resources Manager for all formal complaints and grievances.
  • Supervise Site Captains in creating weekly schedules, ensuring 24/7 security coverage per Contract SOW.
  • Provide FAA Facility ATR and/or FM with updated officer lists and weekly schedules.
  • Control security expenses at assigned sites.
  • Supervise uniform, equipment, and supply requests.
  • Supervise, monitor, and manage overtime usage, keeping it to a minimum.
  • Assist ADC Human Resources with recruiting, onboarding, investigations, progressive discipline, performance management, CBA shift bids, and separations.
  • Review and approve weekly site schedules.
  • Review and approve Site Captain and Officer Timecards and PTO Requests in Dayforce.
  • Provide weekly status reports to the Program Manager.
  • Conduct monthly site visits or as required.
  • Review and distribute Monthly Compliance Reports.
  • Supervise scheduling and implementation of monthly compliance training (e.g., CPR-First Aid, Non-Lethal, ADC Academy Training).
  • Supervise scheduling and implementation of annual firearms qualification for all Officers, submitting details to HR 45 days prior.
  • Review and approve monthly FAA Site Inspection Reports.
  • Review and audit monthly FAA On-Site Compliance Binders.
  • Review and approve quarterly Weapons Cleaning Documentation.
  • Attend and supervise annual Officer Firearms Qualifications.
  • Attend meetings and briefings with ADC Management and FAA Contract Officer, COR, ATR, and/or FM.
  • Perform other assigned management duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must successfully pass an extensive county, state and federal criminal background check.
  • Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Ability to obtain a relevant security clearance if required.
  • Business travel will be required.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Office Business Software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, HRIS Timecard Systems, Zoom).
  • Ability to project a neat and professional appearance.

Experience Level

  • 5-10+ years of progressive experience in Physical Security, Law Enforcement, or Military Asset Protection.
  • 5+ years of Physical Security, Facility Protection, Law Enforcement, or Military supervisory experience.

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or State Issued GED
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
