About the Role
This role provides legal secretarial and administrative support to solicitors in the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office, helping ensure legal work is delivered efficiently, accurately, and on time. You will support three or more solicitors in a specialised legal practice group, handling various administrative tasks to ensure efficient legal service delivery. You will receive on-the-job training and gain experience in all aspects of legal practice administration, working in a friendly, supportive team environment with mentorship from a Senior Legal Secretary and Legal Support Manager. From time to time, legal secretaries may be required to support different legal practice groups or divisions in response to organisational priorities. By applying to this role, you’ll acknowledge that you may be reassigned to any practice group within the Crown Solicitor’s Office.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and updating matter documents
- Maintaining filing and practice management systems
- Supporting billing processes
- Liaising professionally with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Prefers to work full-time and is available to commit to the role on a full-time basis.
- Exhibits adaptability and openness to being assigned across different roles to meet organisational needs and enhance capability development.
- Willing to undergo any security clearance process at any time, as directed by the organisation in connection with specific practice groups or broader business requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in legal secretarial or high-level administrative support professional environment.

- Proficiency in core office technology and software applications.
- Strong skills in document preparation, filing, matter management, and billing support and proactively tracking and driving operations to enable solicitors to focus on their legal work.
- Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, and respond calmly under pressure.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and legal/admin systems effectively.
