About the Role

As a Quality Engineer at Equifax, you will be a quality architect ensuring our products exceed expectations. We are looking for a forward-thinking professional who pairs mandatory development and automation expertise with a proactive mindset to champion next-generation QA practices.

Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive testing across API, UI, and Database layers by embedding an AI and automation-first approach.
  • Design and implement intelligent test suites using advanced frameworks to accelerate delivery and optimize quality.
  • Pioneer the use of modern AI tools to efficiently generate, optimize, and maintain test cases and test workflows.
  • Act as a self-starter who looks ahead, identifies engineering bottlenecks, and willingly takes the initiative to introduce new tools, processes, or optimal testing strategies.
  • Implement a "shift-left" approach, working closely with developers from day one to identify and resolve functional defects early in the development lifecycle.
  • Maintain and monitor CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployments, enhancing change management tools, and proactively addressing application health issues.
  • Thrive in an Agile environment, collaborating with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver a superior customer experience across the consumer segment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through meticulous metrics and measurements, while developing comprehensive Test Strategies and Plans in collaboration with App Engineering, Architecture, and Product Architecture.

Requirements

  • Hands-on software development experience.
  • Excellent coding abilities and analytical skills to write, refactor, and review production-grade code.
  • 2 years of proven track record designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites from scratch.
  • Direct experience in generating test cases and optimizing workflows using AI-powered testing tools or LLM coding assistants.
  • Hands-on experience with TDD/BDD environments utilizing tools like Playwright, Selenium, Java, JUnit, Rest Assured, Karate, Jbehave/Cucumber frameworks, and APIs (REST/SOAP).
  • Proven technical depth across API, UI, and Database testing and automation.
  • Solid understanding of Continuous Delivery concepts and expertise with tools such as Jenkins/Bamboo.
  • Must have a proven track record of working effectively in an Agile environment.
  • Willingness to take ownership of new initiatives and independently drive quality improvements across the team.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including Australian after-hours support for Change Requests and Incident Testing, as well as alignment with UK time zones for global collaboration.
  • Strong experience working within the consumer segment, paired with the ability to build robust data and environment management plans.
