About the Role

The Associate Principal, Architect will lead effective and efficient Studio oversight in line with Global Architecture & Urbanism Division strategy and financial targets, focusing on operational efficiency and workforce optimization.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Studio with accountability for client solutions resource utilization, project delivery, quality, and profitability.
• Conduct weekly staff meetings.
• Manage Studio budget and track performance of project teams against approved business plan.
• Initiate corrective action as required to achieve targets for profitability, billings, and collections.
• Develop annual revenue targets, capacity budgets, and business plans in consultation with the Business Unit Director and Practice Group Managers.
• Drive local office marketing activities.
• Review all proposals and contracts to ensure consistency with the country’s approved business plan and adherence to Arcadis professional standards and policies.
• Lead large complex full-service projects with long-term solutioning and ongoing client relationships.
• Develop and coach Studio members to achieve high performance, growth, and personal development.
• Interface with GOPS (including BPO, DtR, MEPC, and Quality) to drive continuous improvement.
• Make recommendations on recruitment, hiring, discipline, and staff reductions in consultation with senior colleagues.
• Support the growth objectives of the Country Practice Group.
• Develop, implement, and execute innovation and effective solutions for projects in collaboration with the Growth team.
• Facilitate cross-Studio collaboration.
• Mentor and coach team members and future leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or post-graduate qualification and/or fellowship in an appropriate professional institution.
• Professional Interior Designer, Registered Architect, or equivalent preferred.
• Deep expertise in a key service line and sector.
• Substantial experience (18 years or more) in a discipline, including 10+ years' experience in Engineering/Infrastructure consultancy.
• Experience leading and implementing complex business change solutions.
• Experience managing business relationships at executive level.
• Experience managing teams across geographies.
• Significant experience on large-scale/highly complex projects.
