About the Role
Assist guests efficiently, courteously, and professionally in all front office functions, covering all aspects of front office operations in the General Manager's absence.
Responsibilities
- Ensure reservations are taken correctly and courteously.
- Represent the hotel professionally, checking guests in and out efficiently.
- Address guest issues professionally at all times.
- Notify General Manager of guest, employee, or cash concerns immediately.
- Provide guidance to property staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security standards.
- Report to Regional Operations Manager in the General Manager's absence.
- Manage bank deposits in the General Manager's absence.
- Identify and follow up on life/safety and inspection issues.
- Notify General Manager of safety and/or security policy violations immediately.
- Maintain clean and neat desk and office areas.
- Ensure the property is clean and free of trash and debris.
Requirements
- Possess a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a functioning automobile.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret various reports and internal hotel information.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, writing, and understanding English for guest interaction, staff communication, and administrative duties.
- Sufficient mathematical skills for calculating room revenue, average rate, occupancy percentage, and balancing cash banks.
- General computer proficiency.
- Thorough knowledge of Front Office and related department operations, service standards, techniques, guest relations, etiquette, and upselling techniques.
- Ability to perform various front office and related positions based on business needs.
- Ability to communicate concisely and effectively.
- Flexibility to work long hours regularly and as business demands.
- Ability to manage multiple activities under stressful situations and time constraints.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to make effective judgments on front office operations and staff, and solve guest and operational problems.
- Travel to other properties within the market and to the bank.
