Responsibilities

  • Lead a project or distinct portions of a project with periodic supervision.
  • Exhibit initiative, process innovation, problem solving, and decision quality with high precision and accuracy.
  • Produce, coordinate, and/or oversee presentation and contract deliverables including diagrams, 3D models, drawings, renderings, physical models, and animations.
  • Communicate effectively internally with project teams and externally with consultants and clients.
  • Create and innovate with strong conceptual design ability.
  • Integrate interdisciplinary criteria to advance design for large project portions or entire small-scale projects.
  • Collaborate actively at project, consultant team, and client team levels by critically and constructively evaluating ideas.
  • Contribute to and actively participate within the studio and office.
  • Demonstrate advanced understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, details, and construction techniques.
  • Enrich design concepts through technical strategies.
  • Identify and effectively use appropriate tools for design and documentation across all project phases.
  • Manage own and others' time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments.
  • Guide and teach less experienced staff.
  • Proactively check and coordinate project documents for compliance with technical requirements.
  • Inspire and lead others by example, participate in staff mentoring and training.
  • Clearly define team member expectations and responsibilities, empower others, and delegate appropriately.
  • Directly supervise staff and commit to their professional development.
  • Develop and engage in talent strategy to find specialists, leaders, and future professionals.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop clear, consistent work plans for project budget, deliverables, and schedule.
  • Actively engage in internal and external professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to implementing sustainable strategies in all project assignments and developing staff knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development of standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Protect SOM from financial and legal risk.

Requirements

  • Licensed Architect required
  • LEED accreditation preferred

  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Rhino
  • Proficiency in parametric software
  • Proficiency in rendering software
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite

Experience Level

  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience

Education Level

  • Professional degree in Architecture or a related field

Salary/Compensations

  • $80,000 to $104,000
